Housing
Guinea Pigs do well in average room temperatures, not to exceed 80 degrees. You shouldn't place your Guinea in direct sunlight nor should they be in an extremely drafty area.
You should keep your Guinea in a minimum of 36Lx30Wx18H enclosure, it is also recommended you ensure your enclosure is escape proof because Guinea's will find any fault in an enclosure and escape. The bigger the better, you want to provide as much exercise/play room as you possibly can for your Guinea.
1 to 2 inch thick bedding on the base of the cage should be sufficient enough. You can use high quality paper bedding or pine shavings. Ceder and Aspen is not recommended.
You can house same-sex Guineas together ONLY if they have been raised together and are the same size. Otherwise they could fight and harm one another.
Make sure to always provide your Guinea with chew toys, and other objects to keep them entertained. Guinea Pigs teeth continuously grow their entire life so it is very important to provide them with things they can chew on and work at to keep their teeth at a healthy length.
You should spot clean any messes in the cage daily. And completely change bedding weekly, use a ANIMAL SAFE spray if you want to use a cleaner or use hot water to rinse the bottom of the cage.
Feeding & Watering
Guinea Pigs are always eating, so you want to ensure that what you feed them is well balanced and healthy. You want to provide them with Timothy Hay pellets as well as fresh vegetables daily, fruit should be kept as on occasional snack because it is high in sugar. It is also recommended to keep Loose Hay around for your Guinea to munch on.
Fresh water should be provided at ALL times.
