Ferrets (Mustela Putorius Furo)

Ferret's are small members of the weasel family that have been domesticated for more then two thousand years now. Ferret's are energetic and are very time consuming pets, usually requiring more care and attention then a dog or cat.
Ferret's can live 6-13 years, they can also weigh as much as 5-8lbs.

Enclosure
Ferret cages are usually two levels, with a space to hang a cozy hammock. We highly recommend Ferret or Critter Nations, as they are two levels and have plenty of play space for them. You should also keep a litter box inside of the cage as well, ferrets are highly intelligent and are easily litter box trained.
Food and water bowls should be easily accessible, either use a heavy ceramic bowl they cannot tip over or a bowl the clips to the side of the cage. You can also use water bottles, like rabbits and small animals us, for water. Though not every ferret will drink from a bottle, some can be picky so just watch them and make sure they are staying hydrated.
